2009...The Year Karen Learns to Blog

Welcome to our Family Blog. Somehow it seems easier to enter the exotic adventures of times in foreign lands and such. But we will begin there and then continue with our life here in Yosemite. We will begin with glimpses of what 2008 held for us, then catch up to now...that's the plan anyway!

Can you believe that just a year ago we were celebrating the holidays in our home in India!!? Seems like a dream These were taken at our Christmas party in Bangalore last year.
A highlight was when Paul came in as Santa, and let all the kids and teachers and other friends sit on his lap and tell him what they would like for Christmas. After a time he disappeared and returned as Mister Paul Sir again. All the guests were distraught that Paul had missed Santa...and told him so! So funny! We really loved our time there and miss our home and most especially the wonderful friends we were so fortunate to make. The first photo is of most of us with Eliza's friend "Sweetie" and some of the wonderful teachers Paul got to work with. The other is Eliza-Claus with our dear friend Uma...and a bird mag. of course!

These lovely ladies were some of our dearest friends. Sindhu is reading bedtime stories to the kids and Vimala is teaching Karen the proper way to slice up a moosambi - sweet relative of the orange. Vimala taught me much more than fruit prep. Some of our best days in India were spent in the garden paradise that was their backyard. Lucky us!
